Mighty Warrior
Today's Through the Bible Reading: Judges 5-7
Abbreviated Reading: Judges 6
Has God called you to knock down some idols like Gideon? Those assignments can fill our heart with fear. But God is gracious and reassures us...
But the Lord said to him, "Peace! Do not be afraid. You are not going to die." Judges 6:23
Today’s reading highlights God’s patience as Gideon asks God for affirmation and reassurances. I’m so thankful that the Lord is patient with us and continually reassures our hearts and continually allows us to find Him when we seek Him.
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 1 John 3:20
We know our weaknesses and inadequacies – But God sees us covered in Christ’s perfecting blood and calls us RIGHTEOUS. (Rm 3:22; 2 Cor 5:21; Col 1:21-23)
God calls those things which are not as though they are (Rom 4:17). God called Abraham the father of many nations when it was a physical impossibility (Gen 17:15); He called David a king when he was a mere shepherd with no kingly heritage (1 Sam 1:16); God called Gideon a mighty warrior as he snuck around terrified of the Midianites (Judges 6:11); and he calls us a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, His special people (1 Peter 2:9).
Dig into His Word today and read of His abundant patience and discover what He has called you – because He ALWAYS does what He says.
