David’s Prophecy

The Crucifixion Foretold

Today's Through the Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 24; Psalms 13; 17; 22; 54

Abbreviated Reading: 1 Samuel 24

They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. Psalm 22:18

Take a look and see Jesus our Redeemer as you read through Psalm 22. David had never heard of death by crucifixion, he did not know how the coming Messiah would save them, but he did know that there would be a Redeemer (Gen 3:15). Inspired by the Holy Spirit, David wrote of things to come. AMAZING!

Jesus is the very essence of the Scriptures. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, King of kings and Lord of lords, our Savior and Redeemer! The Old Testament points to Him and the New Testament reveals Him.

Just as certain as God had a plan of Salvation and was faithful to complete it, He has a plan for your life. He is not reckless with His loved ones. Every day is planned by His loving hand, and we have the opportunity to walk hand in hand with our loving Savior.

Thy eyes beheld my unformed substance; in thy book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are thy thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. When I awake, I am still with thee. Psalm 139:16-18
