What to do in Time of Need
Today’s Through the Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 6 - 9
Abbreviated Reading: 1 Samuel 7
When discouragement threatens to dim the truth of God’s goodness and faithfulness, REMEMBER to set your eyes on JESUS…
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a god as our God? Psalm 77:11-13
In today’s Bible reading Samuel and the Israelites face attacks and discouragement, but Samuel gives us a great example of how to face our enemy and defeat discouragement.
And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: And Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him. 1 Samuel 7:9
LAMB…OFFERING TO GOD…sound familiar? JESUS is the LAMB OF GOD (Rev 5:12). He was offered for us so we could approach God’s throne of mercy where we can find help in our time of need (Heb 4:26).
Jesus is truly our all in all and we are complete in Him (Col 2:9). Turn your eyes towards Him today and find water for your soul and strength for today.
