Hope
Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Ezekiel 47–48; Ezekiel 29:17–30:19
“This is what the Sovereign Lord says…” Ezekiel 30:2
Our God is a God of hope! That is clearly seen in today's reading. Here God gives promises and hope in the midst of Israel's great trias. In Ezekiel chapter 47 we find Jerusalem destroyed by the Babylonians and God’s people taken captive. The people are morning and in despair. There seems to be no hope, but in the midst of this situation, God gives Ezekiel a vision of better days coming.
The vision God gave Ezekiel gives us great hope today! It tells of a day when Jesus, the Messiah will return and we will live with Him in peace forever. He will set all things straight and make all things right. What a day that will be!
As you read today’s passage, realize that this is reality and a glimpse of what we will experience when Jesus comes again. So, whatever this world throws at you today – know that it will all be made right one day very soon.
"Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine." Ezekiel 47:12
