Seasons Change

Today's Through the Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 3-6

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Seasons come and go, but one thing remains – God is in control and His plans are good! He is the creator of seasons – both in nature, as well as life: “To everything there is a season.” Some of those seasons are certainly more enjoyable than others, but it’s important for us to understand that all seasons in life are just that – seasons. Just as the weather throughout the year, seasons in life come and go, but for every one of them, God has appointed a set time and a specific purpose.

You may be in a good season right now or maybe you’re in a tough one, but regardless, whatever your circumstances, know that since life in Christ always has purpose. There are treasures to be gathered in however long your current season lasts.

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Whether in summer when it’s warm and fruit is bountiful or in the dead of winter when everything is cold and still – the season’s time is set nonetheless. It is not outside of God’s divine plan. Rest assured, you are in His hand. His times and seasons for you have been appointed in love (Ps. 74:16-17). He is mighty and able to do according to all He has promised (Eph. 3:20)!

“Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

It is through the seasons He’s appointed for you that He performs His good work in you. Gather the treasures that are found in each one of them while you can because they don’t last forever.
