Good News
Today’s Through the Bible Reading: John 5:16-47; Mark 6:6-11; Matt. 9:35-10:42; Luke 9:1-5
In a world full of bad news, here’s some GOOD NEWS… Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Jn 5:24
Each of us has a story and each of them starts here:
We have all sinned; no one is perfect. (Isa 53:6; Ecc 7:20; Rom 3:10, 23)
We have all broken God’s law. (Jas 2:10)
The punishment and result of our sin is death. (Rom 6:23)
But God solved our dilemma:
God sent His Son Jesus, not to condemn us, but to save us. (Jn 3:17)
God proved His love: while we were yet sinners Jesus died for us. (Rom 5:8)
Jesus bore our sins on the cross that we might live. (I Pet 2:24)
He was pierced for our sin; by His wounds we are healed. (Isa 53:5)
Jesus died, was buried, and rose again on the 3rd day. (I Cor 15:3, 4)
God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. (I Jn 5:11)
The Good News: Salvation!
All who receive Him, believe in His name, are children of God. (Jn 1:12)
Repent, turn to God, and your sins will be wiped away. (Acts 3:19)
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Rom 10:9)
Jesus said: “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” (Jn 11:25)
We have abundant life through Christ! He has given us His Word and His table where we can remember all He has done for us. Today is a day to rejoice. We have eternal life and our precious Jesus loves us.
