God keeps His promises and is worthy of our trust and therefore our devotion. No better area is this demonstrated than the fulfillment of God sending us His son, Jesus – the foretold Messiah.
When Adam and Eve sinned and ate the forbidden fruit, they brought death on themselves and the rest of the world. At that point, God, because He loved them and us, promised to send a redeemer, a savior (Gen 3:15). The Old Testament looks forward to this redeemer and the New Testament reveals Him. Jesus Christ, the perfect Lamb of God who died, rose again and takes away our sin.
In Today’s Bible reading, Isaiah prophesies regarding the coming Messiah, approximately 700 years before Jesus. A closer look at these passages will in deed invoke awe and devotion as God’s plan is revealed and His ability to save unfolds.
