Perfect Peace

Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Isaiah 24 -27

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3

God’s Word is an anchor in the storm. Its where the truth about who God is and what He wants of us can be found.  It keeps our mind right and our perspective straight. Psalms 1:1-2 says:

Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man [whose] delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. (amplified version)

Our mind will be focused on something. We have the choice what that something will be. If we choose to focus on God and His Word, we will have peace. The choice is ours.

I heard a pastor relate the memories we choose to play in our heads as videos. He put it well when he said, we have a video library and we choose what videos to pull from the memory shelf.  This is true and when we find ourselves replaying “videos” that are not focused on truth, honesty, purity and of good report – God says to take those thoughts captive and redirect our minds (2 Cor 10:5).

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

In order to have a good “video” to pull off the memory shelf, we have to fill our mind’s library with God’s Word.

So, grab your Bible and read along with us!
