Today’s Bible Reading: Esther 1-4

Coincidence or providence? The book of Esther shows us just how carefully God watches over His people and is truly directing each of our steps.

Even when circumstances seem to be coincidences, we can be certain that God is in control and is coordinating and orchestrating events. How comforting this is! The ultimate Creator, the master builder, the supreme designer, and the most faithful watchman is overseeing the blueprint and details of our lives.

The book of Esther is significant because it demonstrates this truth. Even though the book never mentions God’s name, no other book so powerfully demonstrates His providence and testifies to His secret watchful care over His people. As life’s events unfold, whether seemingly good or bad, “…who knows whether you have come to this place for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

He loves you and watches over you day and night!

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. Ps 121:3-5
