A Tree of Life

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30

The book of Proverbs is packed full of powerful pictures and practical pointers for living godly in Christ Jesus. God’s Word is a roadmap for life, making wise the simple. If we’ll simply keep reading each and every day, we’re sure to see that the results are a bountiful harvest of goodness and godliness. And the Bible tells us that such goodness and godliness lead to great gain and are a blessing to all around us.

“The fruit of the [consistently] righteous is a tree of life, And he who is wise captures and wins souls [for God—he gathers them for eternity].” Proverbs 11:30 Amplified

This verse highlights what a wonderful blessing wise men and women are to those around them because their lives are fruitful. It’s important to understand that the fruit of our lives impacts every aspect of our lives. This fruit is powerful and it’s the fruit of the Spirit spoken of by the Apostle Paul in the book of Galatians.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:22-25

As we walk in the Spirit, exhibiting the wisdom and producing fruit that is from above – we show the world an example of Jesus.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

May you be a wise man or woman who consistently walks in wisdom, producing the fruit of the Spirit. May those in your sphere of influence be won over as they see Jesus in your daily decisions and glorify God on High. Follow the way of wisdom and your life will bear much fruit, winning souls to our Savior.
