Cover2Cover - December 14

Today’s Bible Reading: Colossians 1:1-4:18

In the hecticness of this holiday season, stop and consider again the miracle of forgiveness. All of our sins, faults, imperfections, impatience... ALL forgiven, covered, thrown as far as the east is from the west. That reality will cause the most distracted of hearts to hush in adoration.

If thou, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be feared. ...And He Himself will redeem Israel from all their iniquities. Psalm 130:3, 4, 8

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Colossians 2:13-14

We have been miraculously and completely redeemed! Purchased with the blood of Jesus Christ (1 Pt.1:18, 19); forgiven of all our sins (Col. 2:13);  justified, the record that detailed our sin has been taken away and we’re declared innocent (Rom. 3:24); God has washed us, sanctified us (1 Cor. 6:11); He has given us new life (1 Cor. 5:17); He has given us eternal life through Jesus Christ (Titus 3:7); He fills us with His Spirit and dwells within us (1 Jn. 4:13); He has given us joy for our sadness and filled our heavy hearts with praise (Isa. 61:3); He has given us all we need to live life in Him (2 Pt.1:3).

O' Come let us Adore Him - He has given us the greatest gift, forgiveness. “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” (Luke 5:20)
