Jesus Seen in Proverbs
Today's Through the Bible Reading: Proverbs 8-10
Abbreviated Reading: Proverbs 8
“For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.” Proverbs 8:35
God’s Word is divine revelation. By it, He instructs, guides, and gives mankind a governing force. Through obedience to it, blessings abound. God’s ways are good and right. His Word is a sure foundation and contains the wisdom necessary to navigate life successfully in Christ.
“Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. ... Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.” Proverbs 8:6, 14-16
Our Redeemer, Jesus Christ is the Word and Wisdom of God made flesh (John 1:14, Col. 1:3). He is the Wisdom that calls out to all mankind (Prov. 8:4; John 3:17). He opens His lips to speak what is right (Prov. 8:6).
"Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth" 1 Peter 2:22 NKJV
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. His way is the way of wisdom and in Him we find all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
“In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:3 ESV
As you read the Scriptures today, see Jesus, for He is Wisdom personified right here on the pages of Proverbs. In wisdom, Christ’s character is revealed and His nature meticulously described.
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created… And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:15-17 ESV
So know this today, dear friend: when you seek Jesus, you seek wisdom and when you seek wisdom, you seek Jesus because He is wisdom personified.
