Choose Life

Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 23-26

Abbreviated Reading: Deuteronomy 26

Aren't you thankful we've been forgiven?! I sure am. I'm thankful that God is in the business of making all things NEW, new life, new perspective, new people - that's what we are and I'm so grateful for it. Sin made us slaves and destroyed whatever it touched. Today's reading has a lot to do with the consequences of sin. God knows how far reaching, how deep setting, and what heartbreak sin brings. He dealt with it uncompromisingly, so that we would do the same and be spared the hurt and damage it brings.

Sin is like a cancer and destroys what it comes in contact with. In the Bible, leprosy is always a picture of sin. Sin is a destroyer. It has global consequences (Gen 3:16-19; Gen 6-8); national consequences (Prov 14:34); physical consequences (Prov 14:30; James 1:15); mental consequences (Ps 42:3; Prov 28:1; 2 Tim 1:7); spiritual consequences (Isa 59:1, 2; and eternal consequences (2 Thess 1:7-9).

BUT we've been freed from all that if we choose LIFE.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17

God’s ways are good! Dig into His Word today and let the water of the Word cleanse your mind, sanctify your heart and fill your NEW life.
