You Are What You Eat

Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Romans 11:11- 14:23

There is so much to be said about today’s reading. I suppose in its simplest form, it can be narrowed down to one question: do we resemble, act like, think like, respond like Jesus? Are our actions derived from God’s Word, or are our personal styles, thinking, goals and standards birthed from a worldly diet?

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

This world is fallen. It’s getting old and God has a better and higher plan of us. Only Jesus can satisfy. Let us not be fooled by the folly of this world. Look to Jesus and feast on His Word. He is the living water. He satisfies our soul and anchors our perspective.  Reflect Him who saved you and not those very things that nailed Him to the cross.

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. Isaiah 55:1-3
