You Are Set Free
Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Romans 5:1-8:17
But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. Romans 6:22
As Christians we've been set free. We are free to live for Him. Hebrews 12:1 admonishes us to throw off every weight that would hinder us from running the good race.
Only through Jesus can those dead in sin be made alive. (Eph 2:1) By His grace, those burdened by sin are freed from the chains of guilt. (Rom 8:1)
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1, 2
What a wonderful Christmas season we can have as we realize that not only are we forgiven, freed, and restored - but that same GRACE is extended to each of those surrounding us. Whether the rest of your family has put their hope and trust in Jesus Christ or not, this realization will affect how we pray and interact with each other.
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together. Romans 8:17
You are a child of the King and heir with Christ. Let's walk in graciousness, extending forgiveness in the same manner that we were forgiven so much.
So, today as you hear the Holy Spirit call, prick your conscience, or encourage your spirit – obey what He lays on your heart and what you read in His Word and run to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12:2).
