Better

Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Hebrews 1-5

Our focus through Hebrews can be summed up in the key-word - “better”. Through the book we’ll see contrasts and comparisons of the old; the things the law and Judaism offered contrasted with the new thing – a better way through Jesus.

Jesus is better than the law, because He fulfilled the law;

Jesus is better than Moses – Moses gave the law, but Jesus freed us from the law;

Jesus is better than Joshua and Aron – they led Israel into the promised land and conquered enemies, but Jesus leads us to an eternal promise land and makes us more than conquers.

Jesus is better than the priests and sacrifices – He is our Great High Priest and the perfect Lamb of God.

Jesus is better than the Mosaic Covenant – He brought us the New Covenant based on grace and His work alone!

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior during this holiday season, glory in His righteousness, in His free gift of salvation. He is the complete fulfillment. Let's dig into His Word together and store up all the treasure we can as you see Jesus in the book of Hebrews.
