A Good Shepherd Will Come

Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Ezekiel 34-36

God’s relentless care and faithfulness to Israel is a precious picture of Jesus’s love for us! God so faithfully assured Israel of His ever watchful eye and tender mercies.

As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. Ezekiel 34:12

God demonstrated and revealed His character in how He cared for and guided Israel, His people. Jesus, being God in human form, (Col 2:9) then demonstrated these same attributes to the whole world.

Jesus said, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. John 10:11

Jesus did give His life for us so that we could have eternal life (1 John 3:16). We were lost, and He pursued each of us. Just like today's reading, we were scattered and in dark places, but NOW we've been gathered into His fold; cared for by His hand; guided by His ever watchful eye; led by His staff; and protected by ultimate Good Shepherd.

Amazing love! Truly we can follow and trust Him to take care of us.
