The Right Thing, the Wrong Way

Today's Through the Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 6; 1 Chronicles 13; 1 Chronicles 15–16

Abbreviated Reading: 1 Chronicles 16

"Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of ALL His wonderful acts. Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice." 1 Chronicles 16:9, 10

If we are seeking the Lord, then we will have a lot to rejoice over, because following God's Word and His ways leads to peace. Going about things in our own strength and in our own way leads to disaster!

We see an example of this in today's reading. David previously attempted to bring back the ark of the Lord and failed to follow the instructions God had given. This time (in 1 Chron 15) David seeks the Lord and does it God's way and the entire nation is blessed as a result.

God's ways bring peace. If there is something that you are wrestling with today or are hesitant to obey the Lord's instructions... chose to obey. It will go well with you.

Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart Psalm 15:1, 2
