Jesus, Day by Day: December

This Month’s Reading Plan at a Glance:  December

Did You Make it Through the Bible this Year?

Wow! We're almost through the year. Did you make it through the Bible? I hope you've stuck with me for most of it!

I pray that as you took in God’s Word, seeing Jesus day by day cover to cover all the way through, a new understanding has taken root in your heart. I hope you now see for yourself that Jesus is the very essence of the Scriptures. The Old Testament points to Him, and the New Testament reveals Him. He was, from the beginning, woven throughout the lives and experiences of His saints, pictured in the sacrifices, and proclaimed through the prophecies that promised He would come to save His people.

As we are just a week or two from starting the book of Revelation, we will find one of the GREATEST promises - Jesus promises to come again, to set all things right, and to reign eternally, the king of glory!

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. Revelation 21:4–5

Through every Scripture passage we’ve witnessed how faithful our Father is to keep His promises. He is coming again, and we will see Him face to face.

The end we’ll read of in Revelation is just the beginning because we will live with Him eternally. So finish strong, dear Christian. Keep your eyes fixed squarely on Jesus. May He be your daily delight, the treasure you uncover as you continue to look for Him in His Word.

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:20–21
