Today's Bible Reading: Psalm 118, 129, 148-150; Zechariah 9

“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous…” Psalm 118:23

Picking up precisely where we left off the other day in Psalms, let’s look and see more pictures, prophecies, and promises of Jesus in what we read today:

There will be a stone the builders reject that will become the chief cornerstone.

“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” Psalm 118:22, 23

Jesus is the stone the builders rejected and He has become the chief cornerstone.

“…Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone;” Ephesians 2:20

The Prophet promised a humble King will come.

“Rejoice greatly…behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt the foal of a donkey.” Zechariah 9:9

Jesus, the King, humbled Himself and came to dwell among us and die for us.

“And Jesus, when he had found a young donkey, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on a donkey's colt.” John 12:14, 15

“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:8

The Prophet promise a shepherd for the flock of God.

“…God shall save them in that day as the flock of His people…” Zechariah 9:16

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, leads His sheep.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” John 10:27

Truly, it is all about Jesus.
